What eye shadow techniques and colors look best?

For our football homecoming our theme is a ';Black Tie Affair';. My dress is a royal blue with a purple tint. I have Dark dark brown hair, olive skin and turqoise like eyes. Besides using a smoky eye with blacks and grays, what other options would look good?What eye shadow techniques and colors look best?

I use like a maroon color eyeliner w/ some pink tones that really look good esp w/ dark dark hair ~ I sort of do it like smokey greys but w/ maroon/pink instead
I do like the colors she said too. Smokey blue with a light highlighter on top. Try to V your dark color it looks so nice that way. Good luck

I think go with deep purples. But still do a smokey eye effect. Im sure you'll look beautiful anyways! Have fun...
try putting half and half colors.. such as purple and grey.. dark on half of your eye and light on top..looks nice
