Okay, here is a tip... try MAC Paint. It's like foundation for your eyes. It comes in a variety of colors. It lasts for a LONG TIME. you can wear any brand of makeup after that. I swear, it really lasts all day long if you put the Paint underneath.

without a doubt, stila eyeshadow is one of the best out there. it's heavily pigmented so you only need to sweep the shadow pot once and it STAYS ON. i find that mac eyeshadow tends to crease by 11am
MAC makeup at Macy's and Nordstroms has pretty good staying power; they also have products (for example, creams that you apply prior to your eyeshadow application) that are specifically formulated to make your makeup last, and not rub off or disappear on you. Plus, they have only about a million different types of shades and styles (frost, matte, laquer, etc) to choose from. Just ask one of the consultants at the counter to help you out. They're usually pretty friendly; and don't be scared by all the makeup they usually wear, they're promoting their products. Have fun! =)
Run,don't walk, to your local M.A.C. make-up counter! Their eye shadows are amazing and come in all the best colors! I used other stuff like Neutrogena and Maybelline, until my friend made me over at school one day and I was like, wow! I'm a M.A.C. user for life now! Their whole product line is awesome! It's what all the professional make-up artists use on celebs to make them look gorgeous. (Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a cheesy ad, but you should definitely try this stuff!)
I use MAC eyeshadow but I apply FYeye by Benefit and it really prolongs my eyeshadow
MAC. They have the best pigments and if you get a base, it really makes the color pop, and it makes it stay longer :)

Mac and Maybeline
Almay, Maybelline (mousse), L'Oreal (Paris or H.I.P) are some of the great drugstore brands that are long-lasting and come at an easy price. For the higher end eyeshadows, definitely try MAC (and why not? It's really only $4 more than L'Oreal...)- an awesome brand. Also, try putting on a thin layer of foundation before you put on eyeshadow- this will give the pigments a base to grab onto. Lightly dust your eyeshadow with loose translucent powder to ';set'; the color- same way you set your concealer/foundation. Hope that helps :)
