Careful application and good brushes. A softer brush makes it easier to blend in colours, there is a huge array of different kinds available that will help. It's quite difficult to blend eyeshadow in properly with those little sponge-type applicator brushes, as cheap as they are!
Remember also that models have makeup artists to do it for them... of course it's going to look perfect. ;] The average lady... is not a makeup artist!What is the correct technique to eye shadow application?

if oyur using a lose powder use your finger lightly dipped in water. if your using a loose powder with a brush lightly realllllllly lightly dip it in water and apply. for solid pressed ones have a brush or your finger. those othe rapplicators are horrible

put the color that u want to be first then u apply the
second color in. between those two colors, blend it in.
