How do you keep eye shadow from clumping in the crease of your eyelid?

As the day goes on, it inevitably happens. I even bought the non-clumping kind ( or so it is advertised)

not sure what brand you are using but a better quality shadow will not do that since the shadow is very finely milled. drugstore brands will do that sometimes.





this is probably happening because of the oils in your skin. you have a few options:





after you apply your foundation, powder your face before you apply the eyeshadow. by doing this it will help the make up from sliding/ shifting. then give your face another light dusting of powder. use a very large powder brush, tap it to get the excess off then dust your face with it (do this both times as a little goes a long way). the other thing you can do is use a face primer...i recommend laura mercier. smash box makes one too. this will help your make up stay on longer and also give you incredibly beautiful looking skin. you can also use an eye primer. it is made to make sure your eye makeup does not shift. i figure might as well use the face primer instead of just the eye one. it is a matter of preference.How do you keep eye shadow from clumping in the crease of your eyelid?
BeautiControl also has a base for eyelids that significantly reduces the crease issue. It also allows it to stay looking fresher, longer! I've used this product for 20 years!
put regular face powder on your eyelids before applying your eyeshadow. the powder will dry up excess oils on your eyelid, which cause clumping.
If your eyelid gets oily, there is not way to prevent it. You just have to freshen your make-up during the day but make sure you don't apply too much. Most people use a sponge wedge to dab away the excess oil and it doesn't take away the eye shadow. My dresser told me once that applying your face powder or foundation and then applying your eye shadow can sometimes cause it to clump up too.
don't wear so much hooker.
I can only give you this as advise , try putting a touch of base under your eye shadow put your eye shadow on then use some pressed powder on top of it . you dont have to use the base under , but the pressed powder will keep it protected .


It will stay in place stay smooth and stay on alot longer . you could also try using a diffrent type of eyeshadow , if you use pressed try pens and visa versa
I hate when that happens that's why I don't use the cream eyeshadow.
if you wear cream eyeshadow, then the easiest way i know is to start using powder eyeshadow. With that, you can use an eye brush to put it on your eyelid, and then use a small blush brush to lightly dust it over your eye.
Merle Norman Cosmetics offers an eye shadow base. I've used it since I was 17 and never had this problem since then.
I like using foundation on my eyelids as a start-up base; I then would use a product, such as a MAC Paint, as another base because it helps keep my eyeshadow from creasing and fading. Using oil blotting papers may help keep your eyeshadow from creasing as well.
